About the Maywald Foundation

Helping Kids Thrive, One Ride at a Time

The Maywald family established the Maywald Foundation with a heartfelt mission: to empower and uplift children of all abilities through the healing bond between horse and rider.  Based in Magnolia, Texas, we are a family-owned and operated organization committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment for every child who visits our facility.  Drawing on years of experience in horsemanship, special needs care, and a passion for the great outdoors, we offer personalized equine-assisted therapy and various outdoor activities that fosters confidence, physical strength, emotional growth, and joy.. At the core of our work is a simple belief—that every child deserves the chance to thrive, and that horses have a special way of helping them do just that.

What We Offer

At our equine therapy center, we offer a variety of specialized services designed to support the unique needs of children with physical, emotional, developmental, or sensory challenges. Our programs are carefully tailored to help each child grow in confidence, coordination, and communication—all through the therapeutic bond between horse and rider.

Our core services include therapeutic riding lessons, which promote balance, strength, and independence, as well as adaptive horsemanship activities that allow children to safely interact with and care for horses. For children who may not be ready to ride, we offer groundwork sessions focused on grooming, leading, and connecting with the horses in a calm, supportive setting.

We also provide sensory trail experiences, seasonal camps, and small-group programs that encourage social skills and teamwork through hands-on, horse-based activities. Every child’s journey is guided by individualized plans developed in collaboration with families and care providers, ensuring a safe, engaging, and meaningful experience for every participant.
